JOYS TO THE WORLD, INC pioneer program: SUMMER CAMP that focuses on ME, MY RELATIONS AND MY COMMUNITY.
WHAT TO EXPECT
SUMMER CAMP is designed to meet the needs of students with moderate to profound multiple disabilities. Activities have been designed to meet individual skills and interest levels which stimulate inner joy and improve social, functional, and adaptive living skills. This year's theme is SUPER HERO.
LEARNING CENTERS with stories, books, fun auditory stimuli, verbal expression, and unique tactile opportunities that relate to our yearly theme.
MINDFUL BREATHING EXERCISEs with soft movements through structured exercise, stimulating games, and daily parades. We designed a modified and adaptive mindfulness breathing movement called JOY CHI.
HEALTHY SNACKS is being prepared by the assigned group and we collect healthy recipes that our campers like.
MUTUAL COMMUNITY AWARENESS- we collaborate and partner with a small organization, churches, and businesses near us.
ALL ABOUT ME through art, music, and fun outdoor activities.
FACILITY: The CAMPERS will be meeting at Tulsa Hills Church of the Nazarene 840 W. 81st Street Tulsa, OK 74105
HOURS OF OPERATION: June 21-July 22, 2021 ( M-TH, 1 pm-4 pm).
COST OF THE PROGRAM: $30/day or $100/Week
BASIC FOOD AND MEALS: Students may eat lunch, and snacks at The CAMP. They will need to bring their own individually prepared food on a daily basis.
