Show me and I may remember;
Involve me and I'll understand."
The Gap Problem
Students age out of public school at 21. And in Tulsa County, OK, there is nowhere for adults with severe-profound disabilities to find community and stimulation.
Other adult care programs require clients to be mobile and or out of diapers, which excludes people with profound needs.
For these overlooked individuals, the only options are to sit alone at home or to go into a nursing home with the elderly. Their quality of life and the skills they had learned quickly begin to degrade.
Offer a day program for young adults with multiple disabilities which provides experiences that engage the body, mind and spirit in a joyful, loving and supportive community.

At JOYs to the World, Inc., we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Respite care is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. It is a temporary and scheduled opportunity for parents and primary care providers to take a break from daily caregiver responsibilities. While individuals with special needs are taking part in the Respite Care Program they will receive sensory stimulation and loving interaction.
We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.
With this initiative, our goal is to promote great opportunities for individuals with severe/profound multiple disabilities. With an individualized and modified designed curriculum, these individuals can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their full potential.
